Contact coffee cart company to arrange coffee for first day of school. Ensure vendor is paid.

Bailey the Bulldog
Volunteer to be the one and only BAILEY the Bulldog (Kellogg’s mascot) at various school events.
Time Commitment - Varies on availability. Each “appearance” is approximately 1 hours
Costume Swap Coordinator
Manage the annual Kellogg Costume Swap! Coordinate school flier/PS Post for Friday Folders October 11. Set up two (2) rolling racks (stored in Kellogg PTA shed) with donated costumes daily during the week. (Ideally 7:45 - 8:15am and 2:45 - 3:15pm with one TK/K day @ 1:30pm.) Assist in accepting donated costumes and allowing students to pick new ones. Store extra costumes in bins and replace racks in PTA shed.
Time Commitment - Approximately 12 hours October 11 - October 18, 2024
Financial Reviewer
Financially review the books and financial records of the association semiannually or as additionally specified in the bylaws.
Prepare and present written reports for adoption by the association.
Financially review the books upon resignation of the treasurer, financial secretary or any check signer, or at any time deemed necessary.
Work with the treasurer to understand the record-keeping system.
Time Commitment - Approximately 4 hours per school year
Fundraising Committee Member
Many hands make light work! Join this committee and take as much or as little as you want! We need help coordinating fundraising efforts year round that include, making flyers, printing flyers for Friday folders, making signs, creating parent square posts, etc.
Gratitude Coordinator
Write thank you notes to donors who give a financial or in kind donation to the school and ensure they are given to the school Office Manager to place in Friday Folders. Thank you notes will be provided by the Kellogg PTA.
Time Commitment - Approximately 6 hours per school year
Jog a thon Committee Member
This is our largest school fundraiser that takes place in March and is a great opportunity to encourage fitness while raising money for Kellogg.
Volunteers help to plan, set-up & take down the event, and help the various stations on the day of the event. Stations include – Marking off laps, cheering for the kids, handing out water and healthy snacks after their run, and supervising students during the run. Also responsible for prize structure/incentives and distribution.
Time Commitment: Beginning in October, bi weekly planning meetings, frequency increases in February.
Lounge Fairy Coordinator(s)
Oversee the teacher’s lounge to ensure that it is organized with supplies and replenished with supplies as needed. Feel free to get together a small group of other parents to help with this position.
Time Commitment - 1 hour per month
Friday Folder Fairy Coordinator(s)
Want to help but don’t want to talk to anyone? This is the role for you! We need help simply making copies and stuffing them into the Friday folders. We will show you exactly what to do!
Time Commitment - Varies by week but averages one hour per week
Membership Coordinator(s)
Creating and implementing a membership plan, promoting membership throughout the year, providing membership reports at PTA board and association meetings, collecting dues, and distributing membership cards.
Time Commitment - 5 hours per school year
Merch Coordinator(s)
Help distribute Kellogg PTA merchandise at various school events.
Time Commitment - 30 minutes to 1 hour per shift
Parents Night Out Committee Member
Parents night out is a fun, simple fundraiser to engage our Kellogg community while also fundraising for our school. The event will take place in early 2025.
The committee will meet monthly and meeting frequency will increase closer to the event.
Volunteer assignments include, writing parent square post, creating flyers for Friday folders, engaging with vendors, helping with event set up and break down.
Time Commitment - We’ll take what we can get. Could be 30 minutes or 5 hours.
Read a thon Lead
Lead the annual Read-A-Thon to inspire our Kellogg students to read, and develop a love of reading! This position involves leading the execution of the program that has been in place for a few years and is relatively turn-key, but open to creative ideas. The Read-A-Thon occurs over Winter Break, so announcements and reading logs (coordinating PS Post/Friday Folders) need to be sent prior to break. Create your own design for the school bulletin board the week or two before Winter Break, and possibly host a table 1-2 days to engage students before school. Collect and tally reading logs in early January, select winners and purchase prizes for the announcements at the end of January at the Flagpole Assembly. This role has a significant, positive impact on our students!
Time Commitment - Approximately 20-30 hours (flexible / on your own time) early December 2025 - January 2026
Room Rep Coordinator
Bridge between Executive Board and Room Reps. Manage room rep tracking sheet, engage room reps for teacher holiday gifts (December), Appreciation week (April 7 - 11), Grade auction baskets (May 15) and end of the year (June).
Time Commitment - 2 - 5 hours a year
School Directory Coordinator
Work with the school office to get student and parent contact information (of families that have not opted out of the directory) at the start of school year. Send a notice to all families of the info being used and another option to opt out, then organize all data into a printable school directory (sent as a PDF to district printers) as well as an online version sent securely to each family’s email.
Time Commitment - 10 to 15 hours in the Fall
Teacher Appreciation Week Committee Member
Teacher Appreciation Week at Kellogg is April 7 - 11, 2024. This committee organizes a fun surprise for our teachers each day of the week. Last year the committee planned the following: a dessert bar, lunch buffet, professional car wash, notes from students, blenders, and a coffee day. New ideas are welcome!
Time Commitment - We’ll take what we can get. Could be 30 minutes to 10 hours.
5th Grade Committee Member
The committee is made up of 5th grade parents (Class of 2026) and organizes, coordinates and finds volunteers for 5th grade fundraising (which starts in the spring of 2025). This group of parent volunteers are the lead decision-makers for end of year activities upon graduation.
Time Commitment - 1 meeting every other month or so, and as much help on actual fundraisers in the spring as you are willing to help with! Ideally members would remain on the committee as it shifts to 6th grade.

6th Grade Committee Member
The committee is made up of 6th grade parents and organizes, coordinates and finds volunteers for 6th grade fundraising, end of year activities (such as Ice in Paradise and Beach day), and graduation planning. We already have about 10 parents, but we welcome additional input and help! This group of parent volunteers are the lead decision-makers for end of year activities upon graduation.
Time Commitment - 1 meeting every other month or so, and as much help on actual fundraisers and end of year activities as you are willing to help with!
